Herchies barn

80 m²
Architecture - Wallonia 2020

rescue of a barn that was in danger of collapsing.

The owners wanted to save this barn and keep it as a workshop and storage room.

We wanted to carry out a circular project by anticipating the future with the placement of thresholds, mezzanines and drains planned for future use in housing.

A maximum of existing materials were reused in the reconstruction. No bricks or stones had to be delivered.

The wood affected by humidity, age and insects was reused as firewood by the owners.
